Shooting Skill Summary

The following calculations assume a HUD used with Targeting Software (+2).

Unaimed Fire

Attack: Skill+3-Range/Size/Etc. (ignore up to -3 darkness)
Committed Attack: Skill+4-Range/Size/Etc (ignore up to -3 darkness); -2 Dodge
All-Out Attack (Determined): Skill+5-Range/Size/Etc (ignore up to -3 darkness); No Active Defense

Aiming Rolls

Aim: Skill+3-Half Range/Size-Full Other penalties (-2x Scope Acc Bonus)
Committed Aim: Skill+5-Half Range/Size-Full Other penalties (Bracing gives +1); -2 Dodge (-Scope Acc bonus)
All-Out Aim: Skill +7-Half Range/Size-Full Other penalties ( +2 more if Braced); No Active Defense (-Scope Acc bonus)

Aimed Fire

Attack: Not possible
Committed Attack: Skill+Acc+5-Range/Size/Etc (ignore up to -3 darkness); -2 Dodge
All-Out Attack (Determined): Skill+Acc+6-Range/Size/Etc (ignore up to -3 darkness); No Active Defense.

Conditional Bonus: Rangefinder: If a character with this set-up lases the target to get the exact range, then on aimed fire only, he receives a +3 bonus to Acc IF the total range penalty is larger than -10.

Example Attack Progressions

This example uses Aidan and his Acc 4 rifle with Assault Scope (4x variable zoom, set to +2 Acc) and HUD with +2 Targeting Software and Guns (Rifle)-15. These examples do not include the penalties to Perception, as those can be looked up when necessary.

Attack: 18-penalties
Committed Attack: 19-penalties; -2 Dodge
AOA (Determined): 20-penalties; No Active Defense

Aim: 18-half range/size-4 (if using scope)
Committed Aim: 20-half range/size-2 (if using scope) +1 if braced; -2 Dodge
AO Aim: 22-half range/size-2 (if using scope) +2 if braced; No Active Defense

Aimed Fire (need to decide on rangefinder bonus)
Attack: Not possible
Committed Attack: 24-penalties+2 if used scope+1 if braced; -2 Dodge
AOA (Determined): 25-penalties+2 if used scope+1 if braced; No Active Defense

Aidan has Extra Attack, so he can choose any combination of Aim and Attack maneuvers in 1 second, but suffers worst consequences of each for defense, movement, Perception, etc.
